Useful businesses and organizations which can aid you in rubber analysis are:

The primary organization devoted to the science and technology of manufacturing and forming rubber products is the Rubber Division of the American Chemical Society. They can be reached at www.rubber.org

A more specialized group of rubber part manufacturers associated with oil drilling and production is the Energy Rubber Group, www.energyrubbergroup.com

Most rubber testing standards are available from the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM), www.astm.org

Aids to mechanical design work can be found through the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME), www.asme.org

The best single source for technical references on elastomer analysis is the University of Akron’s Science and Technology library. The librarian is Christopher Laursen who can be e-mailed at laursen@uakron.edu.

The author has experience with three finite element softwares which handle elastomers as well. HKS which makes ABAQUS at www.abaqus.com, Swanson Analysis Systems which produces ANSYS at www.ansys.com,and MSC who maintains MARC at www.marc.com.
